 Aim:

Module 1: An introduction to
cardio-renal-metabolic disease

• Illustrate a guideline-based approach to cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) diseases to facilitate early diagnosis and management
• Understand the interconnectedness of the CRM conditions
• Understand the incidence and prevalence of CRM conditions and the impact of having one or more of these conditions
• Examine cases that highlight complexities in CRM disease

Module 2: Treatment options for
cardio-renal-metabolic disease

• Understand the risk between cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) conditions and their long-term complications
• Explore national and European guidance for the pharmacological management of key CRM conditions and how they link with each other
• Systematically work through the management of a case with CRM disease
• Reflect on overall goals of treatment and individual priorities for patients with CRM conditions

Module 3: Case-based learning in
cardio-renal-metabolic disease

• Guideline-based management of complex patients with interconnected cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) conditions and vascular risk factors
• Management of type 2 diabetes (T2D) in the elderly and frail
• Management of T2D in acute illness
